Identify the material and finish
Similar-looking surfaces may require different treatments. Specify fabric, leather, marble, stone, glass or other materials. Manufacturer references and photos help. If unsure, state that the material needs identifying.
Explain the intended result
Do you want to limit liquid penetration, simplify maintenance or protect an exposed surface? Describe everyday use, indoor or outdoor conditions and cleaning constraints. Expected performance must be discussed for the actual product and substrate.
Describe the existing condition
Protection is different from restoration. Mention stains, dirt, finishes and previous products. Cleaning, preparation or a preliminary test may be necessary.
Provide quantities and dimensions
For furniture, list item counts and sizes. For floors or façades, provide an approximate area in square metres. Add a separate line for each material.
Plan ongoing care
Protection does not replace maintenance or remove all staining risks. Ask about application conditions, time before use and compatible cleaning methods. MH2C clarifies these points during assessment.
